Scope: Pine Bluff Chemical Disposal Facility is currently seeking an Industrial Hygienist Specialist to work in our Safety Department. The successful candidate will provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice to support the development, coordination, and implementation of industrial hygiene programs, study the workplace environmental factors that affect employees, coordinate and conduct required hygiene tests, develop and recommend corrective and preventative action to eliminate, control or reduce occupational health problems. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining safety and health programs, documentation, and systems and procedures to help monitor and prevent hazards and diseases in the work area. This position will investigate accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace, perform professional safety and health assessments, provide training, prepare written reports of findings with recommendations, and coordinate corrective actions.

Responsibilities: Must be a U.S. or Naturalized citizen. This position is designated as a Unescorted Access position. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel reliability requirements established by Army Regulations. Will rarely be required to wear a Chemical Protective Mask and will be required to work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility. May be required to work overtime or varying hours.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or demonstrated equivalent.
Experience: 5+ years of experience. Certification preferred.
